Magnet was founded in London in 2004. Twelve years in Cincinnati have sharpened the practice — Midwest craft as clarity under pressure, shipped work tied to real numbers, no theater for its own sake. That discipline travels: one accountable team running systems for ambitious brands across the United States, without diluted ownership or a new vendor roster every engagement.

Gavin Hall
Founder, Principal
Gavin studied architecture before embracing the early dot-com era and building travel reservation systems for AOL and Expedia. In 2004, he founded Magnet in London and became a cross-disciplinary designer and developer, combining visual craft, technical depth, and systems thinking to build better experiences for the web.
Since then, he has led brand, web, product, and growth initiatives across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. His expertise spans design, technology, business strategy, search, GTM and AI. He remains closely involved in Magnet’s work, shaping strategy, guiding creative direction, and connecting disciplines that agencies too often keep apart.
Having lived in six countries, Gavin brings a global perspective to every project. He is now based in Cincinnati, where he spends his time outside Magnet with his family and searching for the perfect medium-roast single-origin coffee.

Cornell-educated and committed to human-centered design, Sarah blends strategic thinking, clear communication, and UX insight to help organizations simplify complexity and connect with the people they serve.
With a background in healthcare, education, and the nonprofit world, she’s led large-scale digital initiatives for St. Elizabeth Healthcare and McGraw Hill Education, bringing clarity, alignment, and a deep sense of purpose to every project.
